The Swiss-marked watches on our shelves are Hislon and Cortébert, and Navimarine is not one of them, so if a nautical-sounding name had you picturing an alpine workshop, correct that first. We are a dealer rather than the manufacturer, and we are not going to invent a founding date or a factory story for a brand whose history we cannot document. What we can describe is what comes out of the boxes, because we are the ones who open them.
What comes out is consistent. Solid stainless steel cases and bracelets. Quartz movements. Dial designs that borrow their shapes from watches costing several times more: a rotating dive-style bezel, a 24-hour bezel with a fourth arrow-tipped hand reading a second time zone, an integrated bracelet on a faceted case, a two-tone dress case with a crystal-set bezel. The clearest way to answer that is with the watches themselves. One step up, the NM181-03 at €70 (6,500 Lek) buys the sport shape: a rotating blue bezel, a navy dial, luminous round markers, a yellow seconds hand and a date window, on a steel case and bracelet with a quartz movement. The NM001404 in blue at €75 (6,900 Lek) buys the integrated-bracelet look that normally starts much further up a price list, with a faceted case, a deep blue sunburst dial, a date window and a quartz movement. At the top, the 001808 in gold-tone at €107 (9,900 Lek) has a black 24-hour numbered bezel, luminous round markers, a date window, a fourth arrow-tipped hand that reads a second time zone against that bezel, a five-link jubilee bracelet and a quartz movement.
Put plainly, the money buys metal and design. It does not buy a movement anybody collects, and it does not buy a name that means anything to a watch enthusiast. Whether that is a good trade depends entirely on which of those you were shopping for.
What We Will Not Claim About a Navimarine
A review that only says good things is an advertisement. These are the things we deliberately do not print about this brand, and the reason for each.
The crystal. Navimarine does not publish a crystal type and nobody here has verified one at the bench, so you will not read the word sapphire on this page attached to a Navimarine. We say it about Hislon because every Hislon prints SAPPHIRE on its dial. We do not say it here, because we would be guessing, and a guess about scratch resistance is the kind of thing you find out was wrong only after the first scratch. The water rating. A stated 5 ATM rating appears on the Steel 5ATM Blue, the NT0021-1, the NAVI S046 and the NMM1031, and that is fine for swimming at the surface. It is not stated on the rest of the range, and we will not spread one model's number across a whole brand to make the shelf sound waterproof. None of them is a dive watch.
The badge. Not Swiss, no documented heritage, no movement anyone would call collectable. If one of those three is what you are actually buying, Navimarine is the wrong shelf, and we would rather tell you that before you pay than after.
What We See When One Comes Back
Selling a watch and servicing it are two different jobs, and doing both is what makes this section possible. A shop that only sells sees a watch once. We see them again.
The routine job on a Navimarine is a battery, every couple of years, which takes minutes at the counter and comes with a look at the gasket while the back is open. The steel cases and bracelets take normal wear the way steel does: they pick up marks, they polish back, the clasps keep closing. The honest exception is the gold-tone models, where the finish is a plated surface layer and not solid metal. Navimarine says so in its own description of the gold NAVI 009, and so do we: keep the plating away from salt water and it will hold its finish.
The other honest thing to say is what happens if a movement ever fails outside the guarantee. A quartz movement at this price is a part, not a project. Nobody rebuilds one, here or anywhere. Solid stainless steel cases and bracelets, at a price where plated cases and folded bracelets are common. On the steel models there is no plating to wear through, which is the main reason they age better than the price suggests.
Shapes that usually cost more
An integrated bracelet on a faceted case, an octagonal bezel, a rotating dive-style bezel, a 24-hour bezel with a second time-zone hand. These are design languages you normally start paying for several tiers higher up.
Cheap to keep
Quartz means you wear it and forget it. No winding, no regulation, no expensive service schedule. A battery every couple of years is the whole maintenance story, we do it in minutes, and the first one is free during the guarantee.
Where It Is the Wrong Watch
If you are buying a name
Navimarine is not Swiss and we cannot document its history. If the label is part of what you want, the Swiss-marked watches here are Hislon and Cortébert, and you should be looking at those instead.
If the crystal decides it
There is no published crystal type for this brand and we have not verified one. If scratch resistance is your first requirement, buy a Hislon, where SAPPHIRE is printed on the dial and we can say the word without qualifying it.
If it lives in the sea

The NM001101 in steel at €65 (6,000 Lek) is the same slim case with a black dial, fine baton indices and a date window, on a polished stainless steel bracelet with a quartz movement, and its own description makes the argument better than we can: a first proper watch that will not look dated in five years. The NM232-04 at €65 (6,000 Lek) is the five-link jubilee version, with a black sunburst dial, applied baton indices and a quartz movement, clean and legible at a glance.
If you want a busy dial
If you want a real chronograph, the NVM148-D4 at €92 (8,500 Lek) is the one: two-tone steel and gold-tone, a fluted gold-tone bezel, a champagne sunray dial, three subdials, a date window, working chronograph pushers and a quartz movement. Plenty of watches at this price look like that and are not, so we label the others by their dial instead. The NT0029-2 at €85 (7,800 Lek) has a blue sunburst dial and three subdials, and those subdials show the day, the date and 24-hour time rather than a stopwatch. Same visual weight, different job. A shop that blurs the two is telling you something it has not checked, and you can read how to tell them apart before you decide.
If it is a gift
The NVM141-A1 at €65 (6,000 Lek) is the one that leaves the shop in a box most often: a crystal-set bezel, a champagne dial with gold-tone Roman numerals, a faceted stainless steel case on a matching steel bracelet and a quartz movement. The NM268-06 at €85 (7,800 Lek) is the most jewellery-like piece on the counter, with a curved two-tone case, a crystal-set bezel and a blue sunburst dial with gold-tone Roman numerals, on a two-tone bracelet with a quartz movement. Crystal-set, to be exact about it, not diamonds. Nobody sets diamonds in a watch at this price and we are not going to be the shop that implies otherwise.
