If you are in Vlorë, there is one way to buy from us and it is the courier. Our bench is in Durrës and we are not going to pretend that is around the corner from you. You choose the watch online, we send it, you open the box in front of the courier and you pay in cash only if you want it. What follows is the part a photograph on Instagram will never tell you: what a summer on that coast actually does to a watch, and which of ours state a water resistance rating instead of implying one.
One route, and it costs nothing to try. Delivery is free anywhere in Albania, with no minimum and no threshold, and normally takes 3 to 7 days. The price on the site is the price: we do not charge differently by city. You pay in Lekë at the door, after the box is open, and no deposit and no card details are ever asked of you. Full terms are on our delivery, payment and returns page.
What a Vlorë Summer Actually Does to a Watch
Salt air is not a metaphor on that coast. From June to September there is a fine salt aerosol on everything within a few hundred metres of the water, and it settles on a watch whether or not the watch ever goes in the sea. On its own it does very little. Left to dry on the metal it is a different story, because what remains is a crust that holds moisture against the surface every night.
A plated case and bracelet is where it shows first. Gold-tone plating is a few microns thick, and it is thinnest at the edges of the bracelet links and at the lug corners, exactly the places that flex and rub. That is where wear-through appears, and salt accelerates it. This is not our theory: the description of the Navimarine NAVI 009-COL 6 at 95 euro (8,800 L) says it in one sentence, that keeping the plating away from salt water is what makes the finish last. We would rather write that on the product page than sell you a promise we cannot keep.
A leather strap has the shortest life of anything you can wear in Vlorë in August. Sweat gets into the grain, salt dries in it, and the sun does the rest, so the leather stiffens and then splits, usually at the spring bar holes rather than in the middle. A strap is a consumable and this is how consumables go. Our guide on caring for a watch strap covers the routine that buys you an extra season.
The gasket is the part nobody thinks about. The rubber seals at the caseback, the crown and the crystal are what any rating depends on, and they harden with heat and age. A rating is a measurement taken on a new watch in a factory, not a permanent property of the object. That matters more on a coast than anywhere else, and it is the reason the two sections below are written the way they are.
Every watch this button can land on prints an actual water resistance figure in its own description. That is the whole qualification for being here.
Which of Our Watches State a Water Resistance Rating
Most of our catalogue states no water resistance rating at all, and we are not going to invent one. Here is exactly what the descriptions say, and nothing beyond it.
100m. The Casio W-737HX at 67 euro (6,200 L) and the Casio AE-1500WH at 67 euro (6,200 L) both state 100m water resistance, both are resin rather than plated metal, and both run on a 10-year battery. The Lorus Orange Sport Chronograph at 184 euro (17,000 L) is water resistant to 100m in steel, with three subdials, working pushers and a 60-minute bezel.
50m. The Casio MTP-VD01 at 52 euro (4,800 L) and the Casio MTP-B145D at 89 euro (8,200 L) both state 50m water resistance on a steel case, with a Japanese quartz movement.
5 ATM. The Navimarine Steel 5ATM Blue at 75 euro (6,900 L), the Navimarine NT0021-1 at 75 euro (6,900 L), the Navimarine NAVI S046-COL 4 at 92 euro (8,500 L) and the Navimarine NMM1031-color03 at 92 euro (8,500 L) each state 5 ATM.
3 ATM. The Belonni Collection at 50 euro (4,600 L) is 3 ATM water resistant, which is a splash and a rainstorm, not a swim.
Two that need their own line. The Pulsar Crystal Chronograph at 141 euro (13,000 L) is rated 100M on the dial and on the caseback, and it is on a white leather strap, so the case is not the limiting part, the strap is. The Casio A159WA at 61 euro (5,600 L) says water resistance and prints no figure, so we will not put a figure on it either.
Silent Does Not Mean Waterproof
Everything not named above is silent on water, and silent means silent. We will not tell you that a Hislon, a Philippe Lauren, a Bigotti or a Daniel Klein is fine in the sea, because nothing in front of us says that it is. A dress watch with no stated rating usually has some minimal sealing and is fine under a summer shower of rain, and that is as far as anyone honest can go without a pressure tester and the manufacturer's paperwork.
The ratings that do exist are also read wrongly more often than not. Our explainer on what ATM, BAR and metres really mean goes through it properly, but the short version for a Vlorë beach is this. 3 ATM is rain and hand washing. 5 ATM is a swim at the surface, not a jump off the rocks, because impact with water multiplies the pressure for an instant. 100m is the group we would actually take into the sea. On any of them, never touch the crown or a chronograph pusher while the watch is wet, because that is how water gets in on a watch that was perfectly sealed a second earlier.
Our 1-year guarantee runs on top of any manufacturer warranty, and it says the same thing out loud: it excludes water damage beyond the rating printed on the dial. A guarantee that promised more would be a guarantee we would have to argue our way out of later, which helps nobody.
The one habit worth more than any rating. If the watch has been near the sea, rinse it under fresh tap water and dry it before it goes on the shelf for the night. That single minute does more for a bracelet and a gasket in Vlorë than any specification on the dial, and it is free.
If You Are Actually Near the Water
Buy from the group that states a figure, and prefer resin or plain steel over plating. The Casio W-737HX at 67 euro (6,200 L) is the one we would take to the beach ourselves: black resin case, 100m water resistance, a large positive LCD with day, date and seconds, a backlight, and a 10-year battery so there is nothing to open for a decade. The Casio AE-1500WH at the same 67 euro (6,200 L) is the same argument in an all-black round case with a negative display.
If you want steel on the bracelet rather than resin, the Navimarine Steel 5ATM Blue at 75 euro (6,900 L) states 5 ATM, has a deep blue sunburst dial with Roman numerals, a date at 3 and a brushed steel bracelet, and it does not look like a beach watch when you are not at the beach. At the top of this group, the Lorus Orange Sport Chronograph at 184 euro (17,000 L) is water resistant to 100m with a real chronograph, white textured dial and orange accents.
If You Take It Off Before You Go In
Most people do exactly this, and it is the sensible answer for anything handsome. Once the watch is not going in the water, the rating stops being the question and the dial becomes the question.
The Hislon Classic CL213S-02SS at 199 euro (18,400 L) is the dress watch we sell most of: fluted bezel, horizontal-stripe silver dial, sapphire crystal and a date window. Sapphire is the part that matters on a coast for a different reason than water, because sand is the hardest thing your watch will meet all summer and a sapphire crystal shrugs off what mineral glass records forever.
The Romanson BH3054GBR at 74 euro (6,800 L) is Swiss quartz with sapphire crystal glass, a rectangular case, a sunburst dial and a date. It is fully gold-plated, so read the plating paragraph above and treat it accordingly: it will look superb in Vlorë and it wants rinsing and drying, not a night on the balcony with salt on it. The Philippe Lauren Steel Crystal Blue at 52 euro (4,800 L) is the ladies' equivalent, stainless steel with a crystal-set bezel in two rows and a deep blue sunburst dial, and steel has no plating to lose.
How Ordering from Vlorë Works
Send us the model on WhatsApp, or a description and a budget if you have not settled on one, and we confirm it is on the shelf before anything moves. A courier we use regularly takes it from there and it normally arrives in 3 to 7 days. Delivery is free, there is no deposit, no advance transfer and no card details at any point.
At the door you open the box and check the watch before any money changes hands. If it is the wrong model, the wrong colour or simply not what you pictured, hand it straight back to the courier. You pay nothing and you owe nothing. That is the whole protection an online order needs, and it is why we do it that way rather than asking for a deposit up front.
The One Thing That Is Not Symmetrical
Refusing at the door costs nothing. A return after you have accepted and paid is different, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. You have 30 days, unworn and in its box, for an exchange or a refund, and that return is completed at the shop in Durrës, which is also where the watch was dispatched from. Message us first and we will tell you the simplest way to handle it for your case.
The 1-year guarantee is ours, on top of any manufacturer warranty. It excludes accidental damage, water damage beyond the rating printed on the dial, the battery, strap wear and any watch a third party has opened. Battery replacement afterwards is 200 to 600 Lek depending on the cell, whether or not the watch came from us. Taking links out of a steel bracelet is a free service at our counter.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I buy a watch from Iglisi Watch if I live in Vlore?
Online, and only online. Browse the stock at watch.al/en/shop/, send the model on WhatsApp to +355 67 571 6090, and a courier we use regularly brings it to your address in normally 3 to 7 days. Delivery is free anywhere in Albania with no minimum, and you pay in Leke at the door once the box is open in front of you.
Which of your watches can I actually swim in?
Only the ones whose own description states a rating. The Casio W-737HX and the Casio AE-1500WH state 100m water resistance and the Lorus Orange Sport Chronograph is water resistant to 100m, which is the group we would take into the sea. The 5 ATM Navimarines are a surface swim rather than a jump off the rocks. Everything silent about water stays out of it.
Is a watch more expensive delivered to Vlore than bought in Durres?
No. The price on the site is the price wherever you are, and delivery is free anywhere in Albania with no minimum and no threshold. There is no deposit, no card details and nothing paid in advance, so an order to Vlore costs exactly the ticket price of the watch.
Will salt air ruin a gold-plated watch on the coast?
Salt does not attack plating on its own, but a salt film left to dry on a bracelet does, and it starts at the link edges and the lug corners where the plating is thinnest. Rinse it in fresh water and dry it the same evening and gold-tone holds up in Vlore for years. Leave it and the first wear-through shows in one season.
What happens if I do not want the watch when it arrives?
You open the box in front of the courier and check it before any money changes hands. If it is not what you expected, hand it back there and then, pay nothing and owe nothing. If you accept it and change your mind later, you have 30 days, unworn and boxed, for an exchange or a refund, and that return is completed at the shop in Durres.
And if the watch is coming off before you go in, buy for the dial instead. This is the dress piece the shop puts forward today.
